During the non-summer months, Sunday School programs take place between the two services, from 9:10-10am.
Our current Sunday School program for the pre-K to 5th grade classes is structured around The Jesus Storybook Bible by Sally Lloyd-Jones. This children’s Bible takes as a premise that the Bible is a unity, structured around the person and mission of Jesus Christ. In telling the stories of the Old Testament, for example, the author always relates how that story anticipates or points to the coming messiah. The junior high class focuses on engaging the text of the Bible directly.
We are blessed with quality Sunday School teachers who not only have a love for children but a love for the Lord. Our children have so much fun learning in an interactive way. Its wonderful to walk the halls on any given Sunday to hear the buzz in each classroom!
Adult Learning
In the adult forum, we typically go through a Biblical or historical series. In the past, we have studied the “I Am” saying of Jesus in John’s Gospel and gone through a survey of the books of the Old and New Testaments. We have also examined the history of the Book of Common Prayer and considered the historical question, “Was America founded as a Christian nation?” The adult forum is place for education and asking deep questions, but it is also an informal opportunity to get to know each other.
